HTC Evo Shown In CTIA

LAS VEGAS - The war in the smartphone segment has reached a new height as leading telecommunication service provider Sprint Nextel has unveiled its latest HTC Evo 4G handset at the ongoing CTIA Wireless trade show.

The phone was presented at the event by the CEO of the company, Dan Hesse. It was known as Supersonic earlier. The phone has stunning looks for sure.

Its 4.3-inch capacitive Touchscreen display is great for the users who do a lot of web browsing and document reading while they are on the move. It is way bigger than the screen of Apple iPhone. Under the hood of the Evo there lies a small yet powerful 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU which ensures smother multitasking.

The HTC Evo will be pitted against Nexus One which is supposedly being released as a CDMA version on Verizon Wireless. On the imaging front, the Evo blows the competition away. It has a snappy 8MP camera that offers much better performance than the camera used in rival phones.

The camera takes bright and sharp pictures and it is also capable of recording 720p HD video footage. The phone also has a front facing 1.3 MP camera for making and receiving video calls.

It also has wireless connectivity by means of WiFi and Bluetooth.

Sprint has said that the HTC Evo will use its WiMAX network thus ensuring the users get high speed web access. It is also focused on social networking like the present generation smart phones. The phone has striking similarity with models like Droid Eris in terms of operation.
