Nokia Issues Firmware Update for 5800

Nokia has recently released a major update for the 5800 XpressMusic, which has been in a lot of news these days, for all the wrong reasons. While it's normal for companies to issue regular firmware updates, it is rare that they issue a press release to announce the arrival of one! Well, Apple does it for the iPhone, but then it's a different story!

Nokia apparently wants the world to know that it has updated the firmware for the 5800 XpressMusic. While the device has already been through one update recently, a major update was needed to iron out some the issues.

Apart from fixing nagging issues, the firmware also adds in a decent list of new functionalities. The new features include the addition of the "burst mode" for still images, where users will be able to capture multiple images in one go. The device's front camera, post the update will be capable of capturing still images.

A mobile dictionary functionality has also been added with support for as many as 38 languages. To update, all you need to have is a decent broadband connection and Nokia Software Updater installed. For further details, head to the NSU page here.
