iPhone Browsers Make a Quiet Debut

An alternative to Safari in the Apple iPhone was always dreamt of by many iPhone users.

However, Apple's unwelcoming stand regarding third-party web browsers never helped the cause.

However, their stand has recently softened - or so it seems by looking at the horde of browser applications that suddenly made their appearance two days ago in the Apple App Store.

As many as four web browsers made their debut at the App Store, marking a gradual shift in Apple's policy towards competitor products. The new browsers now available include:
  • the Edge Browser (Free)
  • Incognito ($1.99)
  • the WebMate Tabbed Browser
  • Shaking Web ($1.99)
It remains to be seen if this paves the way for popular mobile browsers, especially Opera Mini, making an appearance on the iPhone.
