NEW DELHI: Beetel Teletech, a Bharti Enterprises group company, on Wednesday announced the launch of Beetel Magiq, a low-cost Android tablet in India. The seven-inch tablet, which runs on Android 2.2 (Froyo), has been priced at Rs 9,999.

According to the company, the tablet will be available in shops from next week.

"Magiq has been designed looking at the technology needs of the extremely demanding Indian customers," said Vinod Sawhny, CEO of Beetel. He added that it's first of the several tablets that the company plans to introduce in India.

Magiq's screen has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The tablet has two 2MP cameras and supports phone calls through a compatible Bluetooth headset. It is powered by a 1Ghz processor. It has 8GB internal storage, expandable up to 24GB through a 16GB SD card. A quick look at the product showed that it is a re-branded Huawei S7 tablet.

Beetel said that the tablet has the blessings of Google and hence will come preloaded with Android Market, allowing users to download and install relevant apps. "At Beetel we remain committed to introduce affordable and feature-rich mobile devices which offer great value preposition and suit the customer's requirements and style," added Sawhny.
