Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.0
NEW DELHI: Apart from the Galaxy S II smartphone and Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet, Korean giant Samsung has unveiled Android-based iPod rivals, Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 and WiFi 5.0, at the Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona.
The former features a 4-inch Super Clear LCD touchscreen while the latter has a large 5-inch touchscreen display with 800×480 resolution. The devices run Android 2.2 (Froyo) and can be upgraded to the Android 2.3.
Powered by 1Ghz Samsung Hummingbird processors, Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 packs a 3.2 megapixel camera on the back and VGA camera on the front for video calling. The player will come in 8, 16 and 32GB versions.
The 5-inch model too runs on a 1Ghz Samsung Hummingbird processors and features a 5 megapixel rear camera with flash. The player too has a VGA front-facing camera.
The players support built-in GPS receiver, Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n, accelerometer, digital compass and microSD expansion card slot.
According to Samsung, both devices will come with Skype and Qik Plus pre-loaded for VOIP calling and video chat from Wi-Fi hotspots.
