Uninor Launches GSM Service in India with lowest call rates


Chennai - Uninor is the name of the latest GSM entrant in India’s highly competitive mobile telephone market. Today, they have launched operations in seven circles including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh East and West, Bihar and Jharkhand.
Uninor is Joint Venture between Norway’s Telenor and India’s Unitech to launch GSM sevices in India. The network will cover a national footprint of nearly 600 million subscribers.
They are trying to grab the market with their ultra low call rate of just 29 paisa per minute for local calls and 49 paisa per minute for STD calls. The name of the plans are callmore @29 paisa and Talkmore@29paisa.
